Riverside with a bachelors of science in biology in 2008. She got her first position as a veterinary assistant in July of 2009 in a general practice clinic, and has been loving working in the veterinary field ever since.

Marcela currently lives with her twin sister, her Yorkie Marley, and her Chihuahua mix Pepe. She hopes to get her license to become an R.V.T. in the near future. Some activities she enjoys when not helping animals are playing soccer, going to Golden State Warriors games, hiking, and spending time with family & friends.

Hannah (Surgery Technician)

Hannah was born and raised Alameda. She has always had animals in her household and began working at a veterinary clinic in 2008. In 2011 she received her AS in Veterinary Technology from Carrington College. She lives with her older brother and her dog Tyson. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends outdoors.

Aimee (Surgery Technician)

Aimee was born and raised in the East Bay and has lived all over the 510, but Oakland is dearest to her heart. Caring for animals has always been an intrinsic part of her nature; growing up she loved to nurture the street cats that roamed her neighborhood.

After experiencing what to her were joyless day to day machinations of working at an office job she applied to an entry level technician position at an emergency clinic in Antioch. She was definitely hooked and wanted to pursue a career in the profession!

Aimee's technician skills have grown since being exposed to Emergency Critical Care, General Practice, Spay/Neuter Shelter Care with a focus on community outreach to where she is currently settled as a surgical nurse at VSCB.

Aimee shares her home with her one-eyed bat-huahua Rocko, chunky monkey yorkie Julian, a gorgeous were-cat named SmokeStack, and two betta fish, Dracul and Odysseus.

Aimee loves to explore the Bay Area by hiking around with her dogs, eating diverse types of food and curling up on the couch watching movies with her dogs.

Ana, RVT (Surgery Technician)

Ana is a San Francisco native who’s been living in Oakland for 8 years. She lives with her super bright & silly 5-year-old daughter, Naomi. They have two pets; a 10-year-old Border Collie mix named Anola, and a 9-year old Burmese mix cat named Nike. She is very family oriented and values creating memories with her loved ones.

Ana has been in the veterinary field for 10 years. She earned her Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology from Western Career College in 2007 and became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2009. She has experience working in multiple veterinary fields; shelter medicine, high volume spay/neuter clinic, exotics (pocket pets), veterinary dentistry (her favorite) and general practice. She is thrilled to continue her career with VSC as a surgical nurse. She joined the team in August.

In her spare time, she loves biking, attending San Francisco Giants baseball games, going to festivals & farmers markets, hiking, listening to pop & alternative music, and being close to the ocean. She also loves playing catcher for her softball team (SF SPCA Kittens) in the spring & summer.

Donnetta (Surgery Technician)

Donnetta attended Western Career College (Carrington College) and received her Associate of Science in Veterinary Technology in 2007. She worked in General Practice for 11yrs prior to joining the VSCB team in March of this year, and is enjoying the opportunity to expand her horizons by branching off into specialty surgery.

Donnetta has always had a strong affinity for animals. Some of her most cherished memories growing up are with her German Shepherd "Daisy" and Orange Tabby "Kizzy," as well as the many small and large pets that have been part of the family throughout the years. She doesn't currently have any pets, so she sees every pet she cares for as a chance to treat them like her own for the time they are in her presence.

Donnetta was born and raised in San Francisco and now resides in San Leandro with her three fun loving kids. In her spare time, she loves outdoor activities, music, and being around her family.

Trish (Surgery Technician)

Trish became interested in veterinary medicine very early in her professional career. She had been running her own smoothie shop, but made the decision to pursue a career that she truly loved. Veterinary medicine was a perfect fit, as she grew up riding horses in the North Bay, and has a 35 year old mare name Cricket, who Trish has had since she was ten years old. Of course Trish initially thought she would end up in large animal medicine, but small animal medicine stole her heart while she was in tech school. She graduated from Western Career College, Pleasant Hill, CA in 2009, feeling truly inspired by the science, sense of compassion, and critical thinking.

Trish has also volunteered time at a local shelter, becoming a strong advocate for rescuing and adopting animals. She also volunteered at a local wildlife hospital, where she experienced releasing red tailed hawks and cedar waxwings, as well as participating in nursing humming birds, raccoons, squirrels, opossums, etc., back to health.

Trish and her husband share their home with their two canine "fur children." Charlotte, is a seven year old rescue from San Francisco Animal Care & Control, and has been in the family since three months old. Trish describes Charlotte as "her husband's shadow." Lilikoi or "Lee Lee" for short is the couples "honeymoon pup," as they adopted her after taking a field trip to the humane society in Kauai during their honeymoon.

During their free time, the couple enjoys hiking, taking the dogs to the beach, going to music festivals/concerts, crafting, and camping.

Halle (Client Services Representative)

Halle grew up loving animals, so much so she vividly remembers having to be removed from a bull fight in Spain when she was five years old because she got physically sick about it.

Halle graduated from The American Institute of Foreign Study, London, with honors, and then earned her Bachelor degree from UC Santa Cruz. She joined the VSC Customer Service Representative team in April of last year, and brings over a decade of experience in the veterinary field.

Halle and her husband share their Berkeley home with their four furry canine kids and their daughter, who Halle affectionately refers to as her “small, not so furry, feral critter.” This exemplifies the great sense of humor that anyone who knows Halle has come to cherish. Halle’s passions include photography, art appreciation, and gardening.

Zoen was born in Clearwater, Florida, but moved to Californial as a young child, and grew up in the Bay Area.

The melding of his love for animals and business management makes joining the VSC team a fitting direction for his career path.

Prior to joining the VSC team, Zoen has spent a lot of his time in positions of coaching and leadership for youth groups, summer camps, and after school programs, and also has an extensive background selling business to business services.
